I'm Leah Barrera, a product designer based in Toronto. Four years in fintech taught me that complexity isn't the problem, unclear design is.
I've worked across a startup in Sydney and freelanced across different industries along the way. I thrive on products that are genuinely hard to get right, where a confusing flow has real consequences. That context shapes how I approach every project. I start with research, stay close to the people using the product, and don't stop asking questions until the problem is actually clear.
Outside of design I'm just as hands-on. I take pottery classes, make chainmail accessories, and read constantly. There's something I love about working with your hands on something that requires patience and precision, and honestly, it's not that different from design.
